(Please feel free to leave a memory or photo in the comments below)
David's spirit for life was contagious and people were drawn to his smile and joy to please everyone he met. David loved his faith, family, friends, especially his friends at the fire department. He also loved music and dance. David was born with Williams Syndrome, a condition that formed his love of people and music. Despite his limitations, David was very active in the community, both as a recipient and as a volunteer.
Prior to being a resident of Mercy Home in Eagle Lake, David lived in Caribou where his love of the fire department began. David introduced himself to the fire department and began a life long friendship and love where he volunteered in different activities at the department through the years. David moved multiple times, and each time he formed relationships with the local fire departments. In 2021, David was given an Honorary Firemen award for his many years of being involved with the Caribou Fire Department. This was the highlight of David's friendship with the fire department. He was beyond words to express his gratitude.
David was very active as a resident of Mercy Home. He participated in many volunteer activities that the Mercy Home residents participated in. David was also fortunate to be a recipient of many outreach programs that the Mercy Home residents were fortunate to participate in.
David's greatest love was his extended family. He loved his brothers and sisters unconditionally. He found equal joy in his many nephews, nieces, great-nephews, and great-nieces. His infectious laugh brought all of us great joy. He brought us great joy and always reminded us of what a blessing he was in our lives.
