Anne Marie Flanders-Vendrick 5/16/68–7/26/25
(Please feel free to leave a memory or photo in the comments below)
Anne grew up on James Island and attended High Hopes preschool and graduated from Mary Ford early learning family center. She attended a program at The Citadel were she met her best friend, Jane Galasso (Tony). Jane was Anne's life long friend/big sister. They experienced the best parts of life together full of fun, music, and art. Anne never met a anyone she couldn't make smile or get a hug from. She was the life of the party and was always ready to boogie. She had a very determined spirit and could face a challenge head on. In the 80's she won a bronze metal in the Special Olympics for the farthest baseball throw. She always made everyone feel included and loved. Anne had a passion for animals of any kind, music of all sorts, and fashion that would shine bright. Anne had struggles her whole life but she had help from many: Doctors, nurses, surgeons, care teams, and friends. Ms. Burty Riley was Anne's disability social worker and advocate for many years and she is family to us all. The Last year of Anne's life we had the pleasure of finding Sarah Bowyer (Ricky) to help as Anne's caregiver. She quickly became family and helped us through the most difficult days. We would like to thank Agape Hospice Care for the wonderful, heartfelt care they gave Anne and our family during this time. Anne will be missed but we know she is with our glorious Father and surrounded by loved ones singing and dancing with the angels waiting for us to join the party.
