The Williams Syndrome Association is committed to creating safe, respectful, and welcoming environments in all WSA-run programs, events, support groups, and online spaces.

From time to time, individuals may experience bullying, harassment, or threatening messages through private text messages, direct messages, or personal social media accounts. When this behavior happens outside of WSA-managed spaces, the WSA does not have the ability to monitor, investigate, or intervene directly.

If you are experiencing threatening or hurtful messages outside of WSA spaces, we strongly encourage you to:

  • Tell a trusted caregiver, family member, or support person right away.

  • Save screenshots or copies of the messages.

  • Use the block, mute, and report tools on the platform where the messages are happening.

  • Contact local authorities if any messages include threats of harm or make you feel unsafe.

If concerning behavior occurs during a WSA-run program, event, support group, or official WSA online space, please notify us immediately. We take safety within WSA spaces seriously and will address issues that fall within our scope.

If you would like resources related to online safety, reporting harassment, or setting boundaries, please contact us and we will do our best to help connect you with appropriate information.

Your safety matters, and you deserve support.
