Request for Proposals – presentation topic submissions

Overview:

The Williams Syndrome Association (WSA) invites proposals for presentations at our 2026 International Convention, the largest gathering dedicated to Williams syndrome. This biennial event brings together families, individuals with Williams syndrome, researchers, educators, and medical professionals to share knowledge, experiences, and advancements related to Williams syndrome.

Conference Structure:

  • Session Blocks: Four per day, between 8:30 AM and 4:00 PM, 1 hour 15-minute sessions
  • Total Sessions: Over 60 educational sessions throughout the week
  • Additional Opportunities: Topic-driven and age-specific networking (Lunch & Learns or evening chats/meet-ups), exhibitor table, small group sessions, and more

Target Audiences: 

  • Parents and caregivers
  • Individuals with Williams syndrome
  • Educators and therapists
  • Medical professionals and researchers
  • Siblings, grandparents, and extended family members

Preferred Session Formats: 

  • Presentations (60-75 mins)
    • Traditional sessions
    • Panel discussions
    • Interactive workshop
    • Small group sessions
  • Roundtable/small group/evening chat discussions (30-60 mins)
    • Held during lunch break or in the evening

Proposal Submission Requirements:
Please be prepared to include the following information in your proposal: 

  1. Session Title: Clear and concise
  2. Session Format: Choose from the preferred formats 
  3. Abstract: A brief summary (150–200 words) outlining the session's content and objectives
  4. Learning Objectives: Three to five key takeaways for attendees
  5. Target Audience: Specify the primary audience(s) for your session
  6. Presenter Information: Name, title, affiliation, connection/experience with Williams syndrome, contact information, and a brief bio
  7. Previous Speaking Experience: List any relevant presentations or conferences
  8. Audio/Visual Needs: Specify any equipment or setup requirements

Mar 31, 2026

Compensation:

Hosted hotel (length of stay determined by timing and number of sessions presented); and complimentary full registration for Speaker
