Description:
Our music therapy based camp is designed to provide a variety of musical experiences for younger children with Williams Syndrome in a relaxed, natural setting. Children ages 6-12 will participate in classes that will enhance existing musical abilities and interest, and address non-musical goals, such as fine and gross motor skills and social interaction. One parent or care giver must attend with the camper.
Parents will be provided with materials and sessions with the therapists to learn more about the possible benefits of music to their child's development.
Campers participate in small-group classes by age. Groups utilize:
- Music and Movement
- Instrumental Experiences
- Group Singing
- Percussion
- Tone Chimes
The 2010 camp theme is "celebration" (in celebration of our 10th anniversary of camp!) and all activities and music throughout the session will be centered on the theme.
The camp experience will also include camper performances, evening campfires, opportunities for swimming and other outdoor activities.
