As children develop from infants through adulthood they will encounter a number of issues unique to their age group.

The issues and guidelines listed here are primarily medical, social and cognitive. General development varies widely among individuals with Williams. The information provided here will give you a general guide.

Age specific information is available in the following groups:

  • Infants

  • Issues that are specific to infants - from birth to 24 months.
     
  • Preschool age

  • Issues that affect children ages 2 to 6.
     
  • Ages 6 - 12

  • Issues that are specific to children in their early school years.
     
  • Ages 13 - 18

  • Issues that are specific to adolescents of middle/high school age.
     
  • Adults

  • Issues that are specific to adults with Williams syndrome.
