Life saving surgeries for children

For many individuals with Williams syndrome, especially young children, surgery is a critical piece of their required health care picture.

From minor surgeries, to major heart surgery, the knowledge required to appropriately treat individuals with WS is growing, but is yet not widely known by all surgeons or physicians. WS poses its unique issues, and not all surgeons are familiar with the complications of Williams syndrome.

The Williams Syndrome Association maintains a current, and ever-changing list of surgeons and specialists who are extremely familiar with Williams syndrome. In general, these physisicans have successfully treated numerous individuals with Williams syndrome, and have been recommended by WSA families.

For information on surgeons or specialists in your area who are familiar with Williams syndrome, please contact the WSA National Office.
