Williams syndrome listserve

Who knows better what you are going through than someone who has been there before. The Williams syndrome listserve(s) provides a way to communicate person-to-person with others walking your path. List members are parents of children of all ages as well as adults with Williams syndrome.

Currently the WSA supports two lists - one which also has a daily digest version. Depending on the list you subscribe to, you will either receive individual emails, or a single digest containing all emails for the day.

The lists are:

Note: you can select the Digest option once you are subscribed, if you wish to receive the daily digest instead of individual emails.

Subscribe

To subscribe to a list, go to its corresponding subscription page and follow the instructions:

To unsubscribe from a list, go to its corresponding subscription page (and scroll to the bottom of that page) and follow the instructions:

Posting messages

Regardless of whether you are subscribed to the main list or the daily digest, to send messages to the list address them to:

General Guidelines for posting messages:

Attachments

Attachments are not supported on the mail list for three very important reasons:

1. Security

The current proliferation of email viruses and file viruses provides the unfortunate opportunity of a member accidentally and immediately infecting every member of the list with a single email.
 
2. Performance

Sending thousands of emails with file attachments puts a severe burden on the server and causes all other mail to be significantly delayed.

Most emails sent to the list with an attachment will not be delivered to the list. This is an automatic setting and is not reviewed on a case by case basis.

PLEASE NOTE: Due to this limitation, a members-only file posting area is available in the Members Area of the website. This is provided as a courtesy to allow members to share files with other members. The WSA is not responsible for the contents of files posted in this area. Please see the Members Area for instructions and provisions of posting files.

File Size

Email sizes are currently limited to 40,000 characters, or about 500 lines of text.

Appropriate Use

The lists are NOT moderated. However, abuse, misuse, or offensive use of the lists is not permitted and can lead to removal from the list. Please read the Listserve usage policy before subscribing.
